 I was one of those kids who stayed in the water until my lips turned blue. I’m sure you know the type. Beginning at the beaches of Fire Island, New York, into the rivers of Maine, and then the bigger waves and rivers of California, I enjoyed dancing with the water itself. It didn’t take long to learn respect for the dynamic power of a crashing wave. Floating out past the break, then, became a sweeter surrender into the stillness. This range of experience has maintained my interest, and greatly affects my work as an aquatic bodyworker today.
The flowing nature of water can also be seen in my love for travel. I lived in Florence, Italy studying architecture, taught English in Tokyo, Japan, and bicycled from Lhasa, Tibet to Kathmandu, Nepal, exploring the corners of the world. In my short aquatic career, I have traveled to Hawaii, New England, the South, the Southwest as well as to Germany to share my passion. Maybe I took the expression "ride that wave" a little too seriously!
 I have lived most recently at Esalen Institute and Harbin Hot Springs where communication and dance are integral parts of community. Combining these skills with my passion for the water has been quite powerful in my personal process. Healing Dance has been an opportunity for me to integrate my architectural approach to shape and space with movement. Dance and contact improvisation flavor my interest in communication that is rooted in my Gestalt training and pursuit of teachers like Adyashanti.
Who knows where the wave will crash next…
